(my personal favorite film I've made so far)
(my latest complete project)
(second most popular video) (was also my first ever project)
(Done in the course of 3 days, this was one of the harder films I had done with such a tight schedule and with restrictions on filming days. Our teacher had us make a montage of anything we could think of. My first thought was to make a cliché training montage, but since that was my first thought I knew it was also a lot of other people's as well. So instead I went for a villain backstory with a somewhat overused future version of self premise. Overall I had fun while making it and the sound score, so that was the best thing I could hope for, having fun should always be the main reason anyone does anything.)
(This will possibly always be my favorite film I've made. There are some regrets like the overall volume and how voices get lost now and then, but the premise and idea of the film has got to be my favorite. We follow Mocha as he gets a call from his mother asking if he could get her some flour from a store to help bake cookies. The closest thing to him is a gas station, so he asks if they have any flour, but the store associate mistakes him for wanting "flour" aka a not so friendly drug. The filming was all done in one day, and without restrictions of the Tech A/V Class, I think this would be my favorite, and I may remake it later in my life if I ever have the budget for it.)
(This was a sequel to a film I had made for theatre way back in Sophomore year. After summoning a pyramid that seems to have consuming powers, Bob & Joe are forced to find a way to escape the void. But after they escape, we realize Bob is just a figment of Joe's imagination, and leaving the pyramid woke him up from the dream he was trapped inside. In that dream however, Joe remembers a doctor telling him about "Dreamium", a magical element with powers of turning dreams into reality. Joe searches for the Dreamium in this half fletched out short film. Had a blast making this one and I would love to make an episode 3 when I have the time just for fun, because I know the story is very weird and out there.)
(We as a class in Tech A/V were tasked with mixing horror and comedy. We thought of the idea to have a super long Blair Witch style horror film, where at the end it's reveled that the whole thing was just an AT&T ad for if you cant contact someone while you're being mauled alive in the forest of unknown danger. All and all it was a really fun project, and I still have the monsters mask in my prop closet. It will come in handy later in life, but for now it collects dust, ready for the next film to be made with it. There is still again some issues with the film, like how at the end Hector, the actor playing the AT&T ad guy, was supposed to be pointing to photos of AT&T posters, but they never rendered in after post. Still a really funny project.)
(Fever dream. Only words I have for this is fever dream. A non-sense film, fueled with non-sense and no plot and very trippy. I was trying to en-capture what dreams feel like, and I think I did a really really good job in doing that, just not really something eye-grabbing, that with no plot I'm sure is why it didn't get traction. Most dreams I have don't have a plot at all and are chuck full of anxiety and random memes from the week I've had. Really great representation, just not a really good film in this way, but I keep the lessons I learned in my back pocket for later.)
(Our very first Project in this year of high school was to create a music video, and to end the year we were tasked with again to make a music video. I was packed and ready to do one of my favorites at the tome "Chicago by Cookin' Soul." There was only one thing my teacher threw at us, it had to be done entirely out of stock footage. I thought it would look okay-ish, and it turned out, you guessed it, okay-ish. I don't know, maybe one day I'll make a legit music video about this like my first ever project, but that won't be for a long while.)
(Another one of my favorites, everyone that worked with me on this use it as an inside joke because of how funny and fun this project was to work on! The idea for this one? What if the world was ruled by... CANNED BREAD!! Sometimes the dumbest ideas are the best to make. I learned how to properly green screen and track with this project, and had my first sense at being really proud of my work. This would be the project that sent me to realizing that I could make a lot of great films that didn't have to be perfect, just had to be fun. Fun to make, fun to watch, fun all around. This will always have a special VIP pass in my heart.)
(This was my first time really trying at a film, although I should've tried harder. The breathing is really heavy, and the music is pretty quiet. It's not as funny as I wanted it to be, but hey I still love this one. The intense close ups with how shaky the camera was made it really stand out about how anxiety should strike in this film. All in all, it's a very short film, so it deserves a very short description.)
(This was not actually a project for Tech A/V, but rather a film project for theatre class during COVID times of high school. While we couldn't be in class, we could still make videos to send in class and I thought of the good old one smart and one dumb dynamic for the creation of this project. Bob buys a mysterious pyramid that eats humans and turns them into cubes, and Joe deals with how insane Bob is. It's not my best, but hey, it was only for a daily grade so can you really blame me? Later down the road one of my friends had seen it and asked me what happens next. I got invested in my own imagination and I made Bob & Joe 2 about a year or two later. I plan on expanding on this as a show because I have so many other ideas for this series.)
(The first project. This is, almost, where it all started. We were tasked to make a music video from any song of our choice. I picked "Walking On A Dream by Empire Of The Sun," because It was banging in my mind on repeat for weeks on end. I was going for that 80's home video type look and I think I really achieved it. I have never been able to replicate this look again except if I actually use old equipment. The crap of my abilities at the time actually make it seem more in line with what look I was shooting for and gave an unintentional polish to the overall mood of the whole video.)
